Azwiar

Azwiar (As we are) is a band made up four amazing musicians who play and perform a mixture of all of the popular sounds to please any audience at any event.

Azwiar is one of Tauranga's newest bands, but already has performed at many local and out of town bars, pubs, clubs and private functions and has made an impact on Tauranga's music scene.

Each participant of the band Azwiar has their own story of success in the music scene to tell.

Arona Kerei, our bass player and vocalist, is well-known in the music scene and has backed up well-known artists such as Tina Cross, frankie Stevens and Jackie Clark. Arona has been hired by the top musicians to play for them and has continued to impress audiences with his amazing bass solos.

Raymon Crighton, our Drummer and youngest member, has played for the hottest local groups and has played at many events in Auckland including the Polyfest and has a great understanding of all genres of music. Raymon is also a graduate from SAE (School of Audio Engineering, Bay of Plenty Polytechnic and Global alpine Institute of Technology and now has a great understanding of sound and technology and utilises his skills, providing us with a great sound everytime.

Gilbert Horne, our Guitarist and vocalist, is well-known for his chops and versatility and since he has arrived back in the music scene, he has been asked to perform with other bands including Left-Hand Break. We decided not to have a second guitarist because Gilbert's style is strong in both lead and rhythm.

Carlee Williams, our vocalist, is renowned in Tauranga as a vocalist and performer and has been in many groups including Divah, Sista Soul and Isis. She has performed with Susan Lynch, Larry Morris and The Exponents in East Timor. Carlee can easily say that, in 13 years, there have been very few weekends that she has had off giging, and she loves that!

Azwiar is well worth hiring for any fuction and has great judgement on the type of music to play for a certain audience. There have been no complaints so-far.

We are always learning new songs. If you wish to have a song played at your event and you can't see the song on the set-list, we will learn it for the event but please give us at least two weeks notice.
