Lieutenant Funk is a high energy, high involvment and high entertainment show. Playing both covers and originals, at weddings, balls, general concerts and even back yard parties.
We had Lt Funk play at our wedding reception and although I was hesitant because I hadn’t seen Lt Funk play in this setting before, my fears were totally put to rest. We had a fabulous night as Lt Funk played incredibly good music that pleased all the generations. My grandparents waltzed to the slower music, my parent’s friends and family friends reminisced as they shaked some booty and the younger generation couldn’t get off the dance floor. Lt Funk have a sound that is very listenable for those who would rather watch, it isn’t thump thump but more a pleasing mixture of brass/funk/jazz. They engage with the crowd and have a seamless transition into CD music during breaks. I could not recommend Lt Funk more as a wedding reception band. They were both one of our (the bride & groom) top highlights.
Lt Funk are becoming quite a favourite in towns around the north island, and will help make your event amazing!
Band Events:
Lt.Funk play a lot of High School and University Balls, as well as Weddings and General Concerts.
They had the opportunity to travel to Perth and opened for an extreme sports show including skaters, bmxers, break dancers etc; and have played many weddings and school balls including Fraser High (Hamilton), Sacred Heart Girls School (Hamilton), Massey University (Auckland) and many others.

We had Lt Funk play for us at our school ball in 2006. They were really easy to deal with, accommodating and friendly. They were very organised, had everything set up and had liaised with the venue staff before we even got there. They played an excellent range of music and really got the dance floor going. They were really great to work with and totally reliable.

Lt. Funk played at my wedding in 2007. I dealt with Fraser in the lead up to the day and he was always very helpful and answered my e-mails promptly and fully. He was very accommodating with all aspects of arranging the songs I wanted to be played and supplied all the music for the times they were on their breaks. They made a really big effort to be at the venue on time to set up before any guests arrived even though that meant that they had to hang around for a few hours before they played. They put on a great show and all the guests really enjoyed the mix of music old, new, funky etc. I would highly recommend them.
