Mr Groove plays laid back acoustic rock. Think MTV unplugged but without the bad hair.

I stumbled in on Mr Groove playing last Saturday night (May 21 at The Lounge in Carterton and man, what a class act band. I've been listening to a lot of live music for a long time and these boys really stood out -- great sound setup, good song choices and above all, terrifically good musicianship. Close your eyes and at times it could have been a chilled out The Band, Booker T or Sly Stone! My advice would be to scan their setlist and if those songs sound sort of like you, then grab Mr Groove, they really are in a different class from what you usually find.

Mr Groove is the perfect band when you don't want the music to be the center of attention but you do want it to sound great.
Mr Groove is the perfect band when you don't want to shout over the top of some gimp on guitar playing AC/DC at full volume.

Mr Groove plays a wide selection of songs (including AC/DC) but we do the laid back acoustic versions so you can still sing along with the words, but not have your head blasted off at the same time.

Our songs are slightly different from the rest, we don't do the same tired old covers and if we do, then we turn them upside down and do them in totally different ways.

Keep an ear out for the lyrics as well, you will often find Mr Groove rewrites songs on the fly and will drop in humerous references to things happening around the room.

Mr Groove is the perfect entertainment when you don't want the entertainment to be the center of the attention. When you have a large group of people with some that might want to talk and others that might want to listen.

Get your groove on for you next event with Mr Groove.
