SANTANA TRIBUTE BAND

A celebration of Carlos Santana's inspirational music and life, spanning over 40 years of great Afro-latin-Soul-rock.

The SANTANA TRIBUTE BAND was formed in July 2010 in dedication to Carlos Santana and his legendary band. Carlos Santana, a gifted guitar player hit the world’s stages more than 40 years ago with his groundbreaking Afro-Latin-Jazz-Soul-Rock fusion that has transcended musical genres, generational and cultural boundaries, delivering a powerful percussion mix of drums, timbales and congas and complemented by an electric guitar over a background of strings and Latin piano riffs. He and his band are still awing audiences all around the world.
The SANTANA TRIBUTE BAND has been put together to pay tribute to the greatness of Carlos Santana’s music, classic pieces that will always be “in vogue” that will never die out or be out of fashion. Through the generations, Santana’s ever evolving music always matched their contemporary listeners and accumulated in an immense repertoire of wonderful songs up to these days when we can still hear them on the radio.

The SANTANA TRIBUTE BAND bring together, for the first time in New Zealand, a mix of experienced musicians with a strong Latin background who have been performing in New Zealand for the last 20 years and who have always admired, loved and emulated Carlos Santana’s “supernatural” musical talent. This time New Zealanders will have the opportunity to enjoy the closest to the real thing, an explosive Santana tribute experience; and to listen to Santana’s classic and contemporary musical pieces delightfully performed live on stage.
