Shinzembi are a Christchurch based group that focus mainly on jazz with a little pop, funk, blues, soul and much more thrown in!
The Shinzembi Trio was formed in 2004 for bar gig at Zydeco Cajun bar and Restaurant where we held our post until 2007. From there we branched out and have performed in various settings such as festivals, cafes and private functions in many combinations from soloists to a full band. Our core members are Chantelle Davis (Vocals), Matt Davis (saxophones, vocals), Nanako Sato (Keys, Vocals) and often bass player Clayton Hiku. We are also able to call in a drummer, more horns, more vocalists- what ever is suited on request. Shinzembi has a diverse set list and will cater to suit. Ideal for any occasion.
