The Tim Armstrong band appeals to all people because they play the songs to suit the crowd they are performing for. Especially with audiences of all ages, they are renown for there expertise at private functions like weddings , birthday parties, and conferences,clubs,bars and hotels. Tim also plays as a solo musician which enables him to perform at smaller venues.

The Tim Armstrong band was formed in Hamilton with its present line up in 1997.
Alan Grady (Drums) ex Knightshade who had several hits in New Zealand in the 1980s and early 90s and supported top overseas acts. Don McClumpha (Bass) from various Waikato bands, Fury and Black Jack.

And Tim Armstrong (guitar/Keys/lead Singer) from the Politicians a professional kiwi band (originally from Tokoroa, Waikato) which released several singles and made numerous television appearances in the mid 1980s, complete the line up.

In 1986 the original Tim Armstrong band was formed. The group had two resident positions in Auckland and Hamilton Nightclubs. They then went overseas to USA and England to perform at various gigs, calling themselves the (Kiwibandits).

On returning to New Zealand in 1991 they were offered a position playing on the ocean liner the Fairstar which they did for 6 months travelling the Pacific Ocean.

For the past ten years the Tim Armstrong band, often called TAB have performed at least twice a week to different audiences in New Zealand. They are also the resident xmas group at vilagrad wines, near Hamilton, in the Waikato area of New Zealand.

Tim also does solo gigs and writes his own songs and TV commercials and has recently performed on the good morning show with his Beatles tribute band and singing his own originals. He has released 13 solo albums in the past fifteen years.

Last year the band performed on television several times, twice on the good morning show. playing there own original songs “stormy night”and “Live again”.

The Abbey Road NZ Beatles show is also another opportunity for Tim and Alan to perform the music of one of their favourite bands, this show also features Simon Elton and John Clarke.

The Tim Armstrong band or solo performs often in the Waikato,Hamilton,Bay of Plenty,Tauranga, Piako,Auckland ,Coromandel,and Taupo, Rotorua areas…
